MARVIN Windows & Doors LUNCH & LEARN

Symmetry First Architects had the pleasure of hosting a Lunch & Learn with Marvin Windows and Doors on April 24th, 2011.

Marvin brings its “Built around you” philosophy to life with every customer and every product it creates. A premier manufacturer of made-to-order windows and doors, Marvin offers unparalleled value with craftsman-quality construction, energy-efficient technology and the industry’s most extensive selection of shapes, styles, sizes and options. Marvin builds each window and door the way it should be: made to order, one at a time, with no shortcuts. This allows Marvin to offer every customer an unparalleled level of individual service and attention.

The presentation, led by Bob Dudish, was quite interesting and informative.  Complete with every staple of information on each Marvin window model, as well as a full size replica of each model window they carry, we were in awe of how easy it would be to clean the inside and outside pane of these windows with to their “Tilt Turn” and “Hopper” designs.  The Tilt Turn window is a dual-functioning window: swing it in like a door or tilt the top of the sash into your room for ventilation. One handle controls both operations. The Tilt Turn is a great window for emergency exit access and easy cleaning, and available variations offer a number of design possibilities. Marvin’s Tilt-In Hopper is the perfect companion to the Tilt Turn, offering additional air and light.

Name this building

The first student of American architecture to name the building depicted in this photograph wins a free lunch for two at the Ram’s Head Restaurant in Historic Savage Mill.

Hint: Surprisingly, perhaps, it’s west of the Mississippi.
